Sip, Shop and Stroll with Parks and Rec

Join Elgin Parks and Recreation every 2nd Thursday of the Month at the Elgin Depot Museum for lawn games and fun at Sip, Shop and Stroll.

Games available will vary month to month, so be sure to stop by and have some fun!

Every Friday in April and May | Veterans Memorial Park

Join us for Music in the Park Fridays in April & May at Veterans Memorial Park starting at 7 p.m.

Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, picnic baskets, family & friends! Enjoy the live music and dancing under the starry Friday nights of April & May. We'll have lawn games provided by Elgin Parks & Recreation, food trucks and more!

Food Trucks include: Smash Daddies, Smith's Backyard BBQ and MORE!

Community Easter Egg Hunt

Saturday, April 8th, 2023 | 9:00AM - 12:00PM | Thomas Memorial Park

Elgin Sub-District, Community of Churches and Elgin Parks & Recreation are hosting our annual Community Easter Egg Hunt! This event is FREE to all ages.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no parking on Madison and Hall Street. Additional parking is available at Booker T. Washington Elementary School.

If you would like to volunteer, please reach out to Elsie Williams at 512-281-6322 or Jackie Williams at 512-740-1310. All churches, organizations, businesses and groups are encouraged to donate 150 plastic, taped, candy-filled Easter eggs.

Wellness Waggin' | Low-Cost Community Pet Clinic

Save An Angel's Wellness Waggin' is bringing Low-Cost Vaccines and Wellness Care to pets and pet parents in our community.

Other dog-related trucks will be on site offering nail trims, ear cleans, scheduling grooming appointments and more!

Catch & Release Fishing - Rescheduled from Spring Break

Thursday, March 16th | 10AM - 12PM | Morris Memorial Park | 802 N. Ave C

Join Parks & Recreation for catch and release fishing at Morris Memorial pond. We will provide a limited number of fishing poles and bait, have a knot typing station, and be taking pictures of your catches!

Bring your gear and see what types of fish you can catch!

Public Art Dedication - "Gigaffe 2023" by Jeffie Brewer

Saturday, April 22nd at 12PM | Morris Memorial Park

Join the City of Elgin in dedicating the city's first public art donation!

The sculpture, "Gigaffe 2023" by Jeffie Brewer is donated by 4th generation Elginite for the enjoyment of the community. The sculpture will be dedicated at 12:00PM on Saturday, April 22nd at Morris Memorial Park.

We encourage pre-registration to ensure we have enough supplies for all participants, but walk-ins are welcome!
