Location & Responsibilities

The Elgin Municipal Court Office is located in the City Hall Annex, behind City Hall. The Court is the 1st level of the judicial branch of government, and adjudicates mostly Class C Misdemeanors and fine only cases, including but not limited to:
  • City ordinance
  • Juvenile
  • State code
  • Traffic
The jurisdiction of the Court includes Class C Misdemeanors occurring within the territorial limits of the City of Elgin.
