Rain or shine, the day will showcase the artists, makers, and musicians that call Elgin home!, Studio artists Elizabeth Sullivan, Bonnie Groves and Remember Me Tattoos are open to the Public for viewing! Chemn Café, The Owl, To the Point and Elgin Dry Goods are all hosting events for the day. The Clever Tiger shares the opening of Sharon Moon’s solo exhibit and live painting demonstrations.
Parks and Recreation & the Library will host activities for the whole family including Black Out Poetry, Free Comic Book Day, Recycled Trash Art, Vibe Club poetry winner, Games of the Past, Vintage Clothes dress up,– and with the rain forecasted you can plan to enjoy those inside at the library!
Circle Brewing is having their GRAND OPENING with festivities all day with ribbon cutting at noon!
Six of our local churches will have tours of their sanctuaries from 1-4pm.
The Artists & Makers Market has moved inside to El Maguey and Elgin Chamber of Commerce. There will be paintings, jewelry, clothing, pottery, food products, teas, soaps, salves, and lotions.
Story tellers (Stan Ginsel, Ron Ramirez, Laramie Gorbett, Patricia Winters) are hosted at the Elgin Meadery from 11:30-2:00. Live music begins next door at 2:00 at the Lightnin’ Bar.
The Elgin Depot Museum is hosting a photo exhibit of the life and tunes of Monty Thomas and a photo display by Krista Marx.
The Open Room is hosting a FREE screening Richard Linklater’s Apollo 10 ½: A Space Age Childhood at the EISD Admin building at 6pm. This includes a Q&A with some of the film makers.
The art walk highlights the public art displayed in the downtown area, including murals and “ghost signs” on buildings from days ago. Art in Elgin | Elgin, TX (elgintexas.gov)
