Community Wide Volunteer Job Fair

Volunteer Job Fair

Join agencies, non-profits and philanthropic organizations from around the City of Elgin for a night of exploring volunteer opportunities! The goal of this event is to connect Elginites with local organizations to make a meaningful impact on our community. Whether you need community service hours, want to learn more about a specific field or just want to give back, this event is for you!

COMMUNITY MEMBERS:

Come meet local non-profit organizations and discover ways to get involved in the community. This is a great way to get involved in the community, meet people with similar interests and learn about community resources.

NON-PROFIT ORGANIZATIONS:

Set up a table, educate the community about your non-profit and recruit volunteers. This event is a great way for non-profit organizations to advertise their services and network with other local organizations. Email parks@elgintexas.gov for a spot!

CASA
When a child enters the foster care system because their home is no longer safe, a judge may appoint a committed volunteer to help them. That volunteer is called a Court Appointed Special Advocate or CASA. CASA volunteers are screened and highly trained and then appointed by judges to represent and advocate for a child's best interests in the child protection system.

The Foster Grandparent

The Foster Grandparent

The Foster Grandparent Program serves a dual purpose in that it provides income-eligible adults, age 55 and older, with meaningful volunteer opportunities, while also meeting critical community needs by serving children with exceptional needs. The program is primarily funded by AmeriCorps and has been operating nation-wide since 1965.

You are a role model, mentor and friend. You will meet your mentee at a designated organization such as a public school, child care center, Head Start program, hospital, juvenile correction facility or any other child centered agency. Virtual volunteer service opportunities may be available in your area.

Tree Folks

TreeFolks has engaged thousands of volunteers to plant more than 3 million trees in Central Texas.

Planting trees is a powerful means of connecting people with their community. Trees clean the air and water, provide habitat for wildlife, produce fresh fruit for neighbors, and shelter us from the hot Texas sun.

We invite you to join us in creating a healthier environment and enhancing the quality of life in Central Texas!
